Merging Flows

Transit hub + Market + Housing
St. Louis, Missouri - Individual Work - Critic: Kathryn Dean - Fall 2017

Located in a valley with big-box retail stores at Loughborough Commons, the site is across the street from Carondelet Park in South Saint Louis. The once-connected neighborhood was divided into two separate ones by I-55, the rail lines, and the big-box retail stores that followed the interestate. This is one of the many examples in America of infrastructures dividing urban fabric.

By opening up the boundaries and allowing different ways of transportation, more interactions between people there will be and more connected between neighborhoods.
